Tyne Engineering has developed an external pump box that can be utilized with our tritium monitoring instruments, providing reliable long term operation beyond the design life of the instrument internal pumps.
Tyne specializes in the deign and manufacturing of tritium monitoring equipment. Both our portable and static models are built with long life positive displacement pumps that draw samples through the instruments. Some customers have requirements to use our tritium monitoring equipment in continuous, 24/7, 365 days per year sampling applications. Although we specify high quality pumping devices for our products, they are generally not intended for very long term continuous operation. In order to provide customers with the desired flexibility, Tyne Engineering has developed an external pump box that can be utilized with all of our tritium monitoring instruments, providing reliable long term operation beyond the design life of the instrument internal pumps.
For installation simplicity, the unit has a 120VAC 60Hz shaded pole motor and can be provided with a 230VAC 50Hz motor if desired.

This system was designed by Tyne for the capture of tritium and carbon-14 from biological and environmental samples by pyrolysis followed by high temperature catalysis to THO and CO2. The evolved gases are captured in bubblers for THO capture followed by bubblers for CO2 capture. The resulting bubbler samples are analyzed using a laboratory liquid scintillation counter.
